Conner Way/Sherman Avenue Construction Project

The Conner Way/Sherman Avenue construction project will begin on Monday, March 21st.  Please select the links below to see the schedule, an aerial view of the project area, and the full set of plans.  The project timeline is from March 21st through May 31st.  During construction there will be limited to no through-access, including access to the boat ramp.  For questions or concerns, please contact Brian Lease, La Conner Public Works Director, at (360) 840-3001.

Project Elements:

  • Construct 1,200 LF of 8" PVC  C900 watermain
  • Relocatre water meter vault
  • Grind in place 1,500 SY of existing asphalt roadway
  • Construct road sub-grade and asphalt pave 900 LF of 22' wide roadway
  • Construct 800 LF of wooden rail fencing

N. Third Street Construction Project

Construction on the N. Third Street sidewalk project is scheduled to begin on May 2nd and is expected to end June 3rd.  During the hours of 7am to 5pm Monday-Thursday there will be traffic delays in the area from Morris Street to State Street.  For further information and a map of the exact location, please click here


THE TOWN IS NOW ACCEPTING DEBIT & CREDIT CARD PAYMENTS

The town now accepts Debit, Credit and E-Check payments for utilities and facility rentals.  Official Payments handles the transactions for the Town and can be reached by clicking here.  Please note that a convenience fee will be charged on each transaction.  To avoid the convenience fee, payment by check or cash is also accepted.


Waterfront Boardwalk

Walking Tour of La Conner's Historical Sites

Conner Waterfront Park

The Park Commission is seeking donations for an exciting new project!  They have plans to develop the new Conner Waterfront Park, which will be located on the south side of town just below Pioneer Park.  When the park is completed it will have a kid's playground area, covered picnic shelter, bbq pits and tables, restrooms, kayak launch area, and a tidal pool.

Small Works Roster and Consultant Roster

The Town of La Conner is a member of MRSC Rosters, an online shared Small Public Works Contractor Roster and Consultant Services Roster for local governments in Washington State, including the Town of La Conner.  Contractors and Consultants can be considered by the Town of La Conner by registering on their roster at the following link: http://www.mrscrosters.org/

The Town of La Conner will no longer maintain Small Works and Consultant rosters separate from those provided by MRSC.


Walking Trails Map

To encourage pedestrian travel and promote community health, La Conner now has a Walking Trails Map with color-coded routes ranging from 1/4 to 2 1/4 miles throughout the Town.  To guide walkers, each route has a coordinating symbol which is conveniently painted on the sidewalks and streets.  A special thanks to Kahneesha Casey, Kaleb Parker, Blaine Navasie and Mackenzie Fryman for designing the symbols!  To access the map please click on La Conner Walking Trails Map.  If you would rather pick up a copy, feel free to stop by Town Hall, the Chamber of Commerce or La Conner Weekly News.

Memorial Bench Program

The Town of La Conner Park Commission is pleased to announce a Memorial Bench program available to residents of La Conner, Shelter Bay, the Swinomish Reservation, and others with ties to the area.  To view the memorial bench brochure please click here

Climate Change Action Plan

The Town recently joined other local and worldwide governments in making a commitment to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, through adoption of a Greenhouse Gas Inventory & Proposed Climate Action Plan.  To view the Town's plan, please click on the above link. 


Swinomish Climate Change Initiative

The Town of La Conner is a participant, along with the community of Shelter Bay, the University of Washington Climate Impacts Group, and Skagit County, in the Swinomish Indian Tribal Community's study of a wide range of potential climate change impacts to the Swinomish reservation, including sea level rise and impacts to upland communities and forest lands.  Click on the following link the view the Climate Change Impact Assessment Technical Report
